Been a busy week

It's been a week since I've last updated this blog. Was busy playing Total War - Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai.

This is the latest Standalone add-on for Shogun 2. Been playing this each day since I'm a Total War fan since the first Shogun came out several years ago.

Still having some glitches though since I'm running Crossfire on my 6870X2 card. (CA and AMD still hasn't solved this problem.) And updating to the new Catalyst (12.3) didn't do a single thing.

You'll have to change to DirectX 9 for it to normalize but I want the DirectX 11 for my eyecandy!

Onto the game! To start off, "the standalone expansion to the award winning Total War: Shogun 2 explores the conflict between the Imperial throne and the last Shogunate in 19th century Japan, 400 years after the events of the original game – a dramatic clash of traditional Samurai culture with the explosive power of modern weaponry."

As you heard it, it's Samurai vs Guns! Kind of like the Last Samurai movie. Will post pics later on since I'm still in the middle of the Campaign on the Shogunate's side and losing!

Almost finished with Alan Wake

Just 2-3 days (I think) playing Alan Wake and I'm really impressed with the overall game and character development. If it were a real novel, it'd probably read it.

Anyways, almost finishing the game and into the last Chapter/Episode.What really amazes me is the details for each character's storyline and how the plot immerses you into the game.

Graphics are good and not much heavy (you can use Low-Mid end cards with this) since most of the scenes are night time.

Here are some screenies I got when playing, take note of the great detail of the world and the effects of the flashlight on it:

New Drawer for me Games!

Progressive Saturday for me! Just transferred all my game.anime collection into one stand. I know it's not really much but I'm really proud of them since I bought them to support developers.

I do have a lot of games but mostly on Steam (160 games) and on crappy Origin (10 games). In the old days, it's easy to 'crack' and pirate games online due to no DRM on them and doesn't require internet connection except for multiplayer.

Nowadays, it's more convenient to buy originals as a support to creators/developers and it's more accessible and cheap.

Anyways, below is my little collection of games. Will upload tomorrow with my anime collection of DVD's since it's already dark :p.

Blackout Nuisances

Just like a normal day here in my place (Kidapawan City), where everyday at 11AM we get a blackout (brownout for Filipino's) and back up again in 1PM. After that; another one again in 5PM to 6:30PM.

I've been experiencing this since December up to now in April. Thank god my computer is still running fine thanks to my UPS. But when I'm playing it turns off completely :(.

Anyways, hoping this will be solved next may as they 'told' us.

BK~ off

Also, regarding the previous post on Alan Wake; here's an additional picture:

The Power of 2!

It's me again! Just wanted to do a little review on my card, the Powercolor Radeon 6870X2!

I've had this card for almost 4 months now and it's a monster on both games and power. I opted for this card eversince it was first previewed. What I like about it is that it applies Crossfire instead of the normal dual card configuration that ATI has.

Anyways; the card is huge 11cm long, so most small cases would not fit this monster. Since my case (Lian-Li T7) is an open air case, I don't need to worry about restrictions.

My monitor has 1440x900 resolution so I'm not yet fully stressing the card at full HD (1920x1080). But most games like BF3, Total War Shogun 2, Civilization V, Starcraft II, Metro 2033, Mass Effect 3 I have FPS(Frames Per Second) from 60-120. Didn't get any drops below 60 at all and everything went smoothly.

The card is not quiet when fully utilized but it's not much of a bother since it's not running 100%, more like 60-70%. And it run's really cool under stress and idle. Idle temps ranges from 36c to 39c and when gaming. it goes from 45c-51c. A nice achievement for a dual card.

Overall, I'm still loving this card and no plans yet to replace it since I can play almost all the latest games to date. AND! I got this one cheaper than the regular price! From 20,000php to 16,000php. How sweet is that!

Pics are below!

Gift for myself. A.K.A.: Alan Wake

My mom gave me some 'birthday' money so I bought myself a game and what do you know, I found one last copy of Alan Wake at a local shop.

What really amazed me are the details and items included with the box set.

1xGame DVD
1xSoundtrack DVD
1xAlan Wake Poster
5xAlan Wake Postcards (Which I won't be giving! :p)
1xManual
7xSet of Alan Wake Stickers

Though it's only a retail copy, it really feels like a Limited Edition one with all the freebies.

Anyways, here's the box(Will upload whole set of pics later, still working!):
